About the Artist
My name is Dale Hitchcox and I am Peaceful Prints.
I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember. My earliest memories are of drawing as a child, inspired by the illustrations in my school readers. That spark never faded.
I grew up in Saanich on Vancouver Island, surrounded by the natural beauty there. Later, I studied at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto and the Emily Carr College of Art in Vancouver. Those years shaped my foundation as a visual storyteller and gave me the skills that carried into my career as a graphic designer, illustrator and full-time artist.
For many years I painted traditionally. For the past fifteen years I’ve embraced digital tools—painting with a stylus on a drawing tablet. This allows me to create art that translates seamlessly to high-quality prints while exploring the boundless possibilities of digital media. More recently, I’ve also been experimenting with AI in my creative process. When thoughtfully guided, it’s a fascinating tool that expands artistic expression in new and unexpected ways.
At the heart of everything I create is a simple purpose: to make images that reflect the beauty of nature and the wonder of life. I believe art has the power to uplift, calm and inspire, whether in a home, an office, or anywhere people gather.
I'm grateful you're visiting my store and considering bringing one of my artworks into your space. I trust some of my images will resonate with you and add beauty to your everyday life.
With gratitude . . . Dale
